Founded in 1974 by Lee Katzoff, Neshaminy Montessori is respected for its authenticity, high standards, and quality. Ms. Katzoff was a new mother and a high school guidance counselor seeking an excellent education for her young son. After extensive research, she was unable to find a school that embodied all of what she was looking for and realized other parents must be facing a similar challenge. Thus, began one parents lifelong commitment to children and learning. Respondingto a demand for an established, as well as alternative mode of education, Ms. Katzoff founded Neshaminy Montessori. Ms. Katzoff’s Montessori programs encompass the essential teachings of ​Dr. Maria Montessori partnered with outstanding education to establish lifelong learning centered on excellence. Over a quarter of a century later, Neshaminy Montessori is still recognized as the gold standard in early childhood education, consistently acknowledged by educators and the surrounding community as an exceptional choice for families with young children.

Developed in the early 1900s by Dr. Maria Montessori, the method is a holistic yet structured approach to early learning. She recognized that children possess many different types of intelligence; their minds and bodies must be nurtured in tandem to foster well-rounded development. Dr. Montessori’s work focused on young children’s powerful ability to absorb information through exploration using all of their senses. From her findings, Dr. Montessori developed sensorial didactic materials that cultivate a child’s natural sense of wonder and curiosity. The Montessori curriculum is dedicated to five areas of learning: math, science, practical life, language and sensorial.
