Children will thrive if we nurture their natural sense of wonder. The teacher’s primary goal is to nourish each child’s spirit.
At Neshaminy Montessori, our educators offer an academic experience combined with social, emotional, physical and intellectual challenges that foster the whole child. The Montessori teacher’s role is that of a facilitator, mentor and friend. Our dedicated staff nourishes each child’s spirit and imagination and encourages his or her inherent high self-esteem and desire for independence.
The Montessori Method remains the benchmark for progressive childhood education.
Developed in the early 1900s by Dr. Maria Montessori, the method is a holistic yet structured approach to early learning. She recognized that children possess many different types of intelligence; their minds and bodies must be nurtured in tandem to foster well-rounded development. Dr. Montessori’s work focused on young children’s powerful ability to absorb information through exploration using all of their senses. From her findings, Dr. Montessori developed sensorial didactic materials that cultivate a child’s natural sense of wonder and curiosity. The Montessori curriculum is dedicated to five areas of learning: math, science, practical life, language and sensorial.
